Merseyside Maritime Museum and The International Slavery
Museum are also a popular tourist spot . When compared
to the other museums in the Europe, these are the
largest.
These museums have commentaries on the life of The
Beatles and their impact on the Cultural Revolution in
the 1960's. During this commentary the tourist can
travel the museum and take a tour while getting to know
their story.
The museums also have a special mostly
water-based Yellow Duck marine sightseeing tour where the
tourist are told about the history behind The Docks.
The Metquarter
The Metquarter, an indoor shopping centre is a must
visit for shopping freaks. It has some really big brand
all under one roof such as Armani, Diesel, All Saints,
Miss Sixty, Kurt Geiger, Tommy Hilfiger and many more
top end retailers. The Metquarter has been opened
recently only, after a huge amount of investment being
put into it so as to make sure that those visiting
should have a great shopping experience.
St Georges Hall
St Georges Hall, an architectural marvel of Liverpool
has been recently renovated and was then re-opened in
Spring 2007 by The Prince of Wales. The St Georges Hall
has magnificent architecture and also a newly built
Heritage Centre where visitors can see the prison cells
where prisoners were kept prior to trial. The Learning
Suite is made especially for school children so as to
let them know about the historic value to the hall.
For the lovers of culture and tradition, The
Cathedral Church of Christ is an absolutely spectacular
building and holds a live church that has a large choir
of 60 people. It is an extremely vibrant church that has
been regularly following a Christian Gospel religious
practice.
The Cavern Club, nominated as 'The Building Britain
Is Most Proud Of', is great place to go for clubbing. It
is a dream destination for for those looking forward to
a great night out. The club draws in global fans of The
Beatles who are undoubtedly the best youth icons ever.
This was the very place where the Beatles performed for
a major part of their career and thus providing
international recognition to the place.
